How do i increase picture resolution?

i need to make my picture have a larger resolution for my yearbook class. apparently the program takes 300 resolution or higher. when i tried to resize it bigger on Microsoft Picture Manager, it did not change the resolution from 96. am i doing something wrong? how do i make this picture have more resolution? and i don't care if it %26quot;decreases the value and stretches it.%26quot; i can play with the picture box so it won't look as bad.How do i increase picture resolution?
Read and study your Owner's Manual. There should be settings for different file sizes. Choose the one that has the highest resolution. Your menu might say %26quot;Fine%26quot; or something to that effect. How do i increase picture resolution?
Just go here http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshope and click %26quot;Download Now%26quot; for a 30-day free trial. Decide if you want to keep using it and pay $99.00. I have seen Photoshop Elements going on sale with $25 rebates in some stores, so you might find a better deal locally. Try it for free first, though.

You can resize with this prigram easily. It's true that taking your image from 96 ppi to 300 dpi will not add detail or make it a better quality, but if you have to meet the standards of your printer, changing the resolution is just fine. How do i increase picture resolution?
You, essentially can't. You can change the numbers, but the result will only by larger, blocky pixels. No software can add details that were not captured when the image was taken.

There are ways to, kind of %26quot;fake it%26quot; in Photoshop, but it is a slighlty complicated process and the results are not much of an improvement. And, even this procedure will not be very successful with a jump form 96 DPI to 300 DPI.How do i increase picture resolution?
You cannot successfully increase the resolution of an image using software. That has to happen in the camera when shooting the original image.

%26quot;Fixing%26quot; images is almost always a waste of time, considering the amount of time invested and high failure rates when attempting this. How do i increase picture resolution?
If you're scanning, scan at a higher resolution

If you can bring it into Photoshop, go to Image %26gt; Image Size and enter a new number in the %26quot;resolution%26quot; field

For best results you'll want to rescan it
