Try this ....

First you need to get an HDMI cable or Component Cable.

Connect it to the Xbox 360 and the other end to the TV.

From there, do what Onion Johnny said on the Xbox 360 because I don't own one.

Also, if you have Cable service and not HD service then you will need HD service to enjoy High Definition. You can also get HD picture from a blu-ray player or DVD player with upscaling or HD-DVD player. How do i change the picture from 480 to 1080p on my Toshiba 40 inch LCD HDTV?
Well, you have to set the 360 itself to display 1080. As for anything else, it all depends on what video feed is coming through. If the TV station you are watching isn't broadcasting in HD, then your TV will not display higher than 480. If you are using cable, then you need to request an HD cable box, because the standard one doesn't stream Hi-defHow do i change the picture from 480 to 1080p on my Toshiba 40 inch LCD HDTV?
You only get 1080 when you are watching a hd channel or blue ray DVDs, on a blue ray player. I don't know about the xbox, sorry.
