Wrong resolution monitor?

i set my pc's monitor settings to (something) x 1200 by accident and my monitor is x 768 so i cant see any picture, so i cant change it back, if i restart my pc it just stays at the same resolution. does anyone know how to fix this?Wrong resolution monitor?
while your pc is starting up, tap F8 constantly ( best just before windows loads ) you should get a list of modes to boot into windows, choose enable VGA mode, log into windows, then select the lower resolution.

If you are tapping F8 and boot order comes up, your are tapping it too early, tap it like every second after your POST comes up ( the part where you get the option to go into setup or choose boot device.

restart windows and go into normal mode to use your new resolutionWrong resolution monitor?
Registry changes.

The alternative could be to boot into safe mode and uninstall the graphics card driver, then reboot and let windows reinstall it, you should be able to see this happen because the basic windows vga driver should default to 800x600 or less.Wrong resolution monitor?
Here is step by step guide to recovery:

1. Reboot you PC. As soon as you see the compter lights comes on HOLD DOWN F8 key until you are given the option for SAFE MODE. While you pressing F8 key your pc may make some error bips but you don't need to worry about it.

2. From the option, select SAFE MODE

3. Once you are on the desktop, you can now go START %26gt;%26gt; CONTROL PANEL %26gt;%26gt; DISPLAY

4. now you can set it to whatever you like.
