....the picture was too big too send. which i can understand this. now i want to know how i can, if there is any way i can make the picture smaller to fit to send to my phone. tried to go to properties in the file of the picture to reduce the size but i cant figure out how to make the file read smaller picture...does anyone know or can help me figure out how i can make the picture smaller resolution to fit to my phone? my phone can hold 640 x 480 but the picture im trying to send is: dimensions 1394x1420, width 1394 px. height 1420 px. hor resolution 480 dpi. ver resolution 480 dpi. size overall 358 kb.
i copied it to desktop to change, if anything i could from the original one. im trying to resize the whole picture in properties but how do i do this? is there a way or just forget it?I took a picture with my camera. Downloaded it 2 pc. Tried 2 send 2 my phone but emailed back saying failure.?
You need an image editing program.
The very best is Adobe Photoshop CS4, but it is very expensive.
A more sensible choice might be Photoshop Elements (current version is 8), which is Photoshop's smaller cousin - can't do all the same things, but it is much cheaper and perfectly adequate for most people.
Another editing program you can get is the Gimp (free and legal). It isn't pretty, has a big learning curve, but is a great program. http://www.gimp.org/
Or you can go to these free websites, but that option is nowhere near as good as having the program on your computer: http://www.picnik.com or http://www.picture2life.com/ or http://fotoflexer.com/ or http://www.sumopaint.com/ or http://aviary.com/
The last two are your best bet for more complicated tasks.
In YOUR case, any and all of the simplest editors will let you do what you want. Resizing is a VERY basic function and you should be able to do it in at least 100 different ways/places quite easily.
Chances are you already have a few ways on your computer - could you ask a computer savvy friend to give you a few lessons?
