i had the same problem but it was not the resolution, it was the refresh rate after i bought a new monitor....i had to backup my savegame files and un-install and run a fresh install....it sets everything back to default settings...sorry...i couldent find a way so this way worked for me....just takes a long timeCOD4 for PC owners!?
Use a different monitor(old one) to set the resolution to some thing compatible with your new monitor. Keep switching back and forth until u find what's best.
