Why does Microsoft Paint keep changing the size of my picture?

I am using Microsoft Paint on my Windows XP PC to create a book cover. I have set the size of the picture on the Attributes to Width 11.13 cm, Height 18.97 cm (the Resolution is shown as 81 x 81 dpi).

However, as soon as I save the work the size changes to Width 9.42 cm, Height 16.06 cm with Resolution at 96 x 96 dpi. How can I stop this from happening? Why does Microsoft Paint keep changing the size of my picture?
Use a free program called %26quot;Paint.NET%26quot; its infinitely better than MS paint. Why does Microsoft Paint keep changing the size of my picture?

I would try using GIMP. It is a free image editor which is far superior to Microsoft Paint. You will have much more control over your image using the GIMP. I can't think of a reason or solution to the problem you are having so this is all I can suggest. Give it a try!

I use this to make my Bebo skins because I don't have photoshop.
