EVERYTHING on my monitor is huge, the colors are distorted with white speckle and many are distorted ,?

Last night, for some unknown reason, when I turned on computer everything is huge. The colors are distorted. Some have white speckles (like my picture looks like a mosaic) or wrong muted colors or wrong contrasts (light on light where its difficult to read). Lots of dots that perhaps are normally so small there not noticeable.

Ive run my virus detector but it wasnt fixed. On a previous post Yahoo Answer post, replies suggested I change resolution on control panel settings to more and on advanced, changed icon size to small. The computer told me afterwards to restart computer for change to occur and when I did nothing happened. I repeated several times, even completely turning off/on computer but no change.

One suggestion was how to adjust view on the top of my screen but the only options there are File, Edit, Access, ScreenNames Window and Help.EVERYTHING on my monitor is huge, the colors are distorted with white speckle and many are distorted ,?

yep. you puttin the geffinger poking in der machinen...

You poked your finger where it doesn't belong, because you didn't know what you were doing, and now, you might have destroyed the monitor!

if you have reset your resolution to at least 800x600 and you're still having problems you should try to reinstall your video drivers.

if you're running windows XP you can go start, settings, control panel, system, hardware, device manager - display settings and see what video card you have installed.

you can try to 'roll back' your driver to a previous version which might help, or if you know what kind of video card/computer you have. the best thing to do would be to download the latest driver for your computer.

couple things to test. make sure the monitor cable is plugged firmly into the video card.

update the driver and reset your video settings to 800x600 or 1024x768 and see if that helps.

if you're still having problems - do you have access to another monitor? do you have the same problems with that one? does your monitor work properly on another computer?

sounds like this is a driver issue, but you never know. by starting simple you can work through troubleshooting your problem and hopefully you can fix it without paying for support.

if your computer is under warranty, i'd definitely call your support number and see if they can walk you through fixing this.

good luck!EVERYTHING on my monitor is huge, the colors are distorted with white speckle and many are distorted ,?
You should try checking your graphic card. It might have become lose. Or dust might have accumalated on it. Check the monitor's electrical connection. Sometimes the motherboard slots short circuit which might affect the graphic card, in that case just put the graphic card in another slot. It is certainly not virus.
