I accidently set my monitor resolution to high and now there is no picture... how do i get it back?

usually there is a box that comes up for like 15 seconds asking if you want to keep the settings and if not it goes back to the way it was... well i waited and waited and waited... well nothing went back and now i dont know how to change it... and i cant see anything... its just blank... any advice???I accidently set my monitor resolution to high and now there is no picture... how do i get it back?

Try restarting your computer, if it still turns up black, try finding the menu button on your monitor and going to the screen resolution and setting it back manually, or you can just hit reset on the menu box that should pop up. Start the computer in the Safe Mode (by tapping F8 while booting up)

You will get an 'ugly' screen but you should be able to navigate to reset the resolution you want. When done, reboot in the normal way.
