HOW TO EDIT A PICTURE? 10 points please?

I am trying to change ny stat up screen on my calculator, the instructions say

Launch your favorite painting or drawing program. Change the width of the drawing area to 92 pixels and the height to 68 pixels. (If you have the option of setting the resolution, change it to 72.) Not the biggest of canvases, but what do you expect? It has to show up on a calculator screen!

I have the picture but i dont know how to change the height and witdth.HOW TO EDIT A PICTURE? 10 points please?

For something simple like this you can use a free program called IrfanView. It will let you change the dimensions as well as the resolution (DPI setting). It can also keep the aspect ratio so that the image doesn't distort. Make sure your source image has the typical 4:3 format (800x600, 640x480, 320x240,etc.) and it will scale down nicely to the 92 x 68 you need.

Gimp is a great program but a bit of an overkill for something like this unless you are already familiar with it.
